+++I was fooled by the first guy's 5 star review and thought this was a good book. I bought it and I am very disappointed at this book. Here are the reasons1) This book is all about SQL server 2012, no 2008 or 2005 questions, but it doesn't tell you so from description.2) All the 2012 questions only scratch the surface, have no depth (basically repeat the new features you can find online). I am a DBA and I don't think anybody can get a DBA job by reading this book.3) I was putting high hope on the "56 HR questions" part. They are garbage. There are no even a single examples no sample answers. Only hollow talking and useless "suggestions". It will server you no help at all. You can get this kind of "suggestions" for free by googling how to answer interview question. I guarantee you when you read it, the first word you will say is WTF.4) Comparing with SQL Server interview book by Pinal Dave, this book is almost garbage, total waste of money.+++5) I notice the same person wrote the five star review for all interview books published by the same company, which is very questionable. Just search all the interview books from this same publisher, he almost wrote 5 star reviews for every single one of them. Smell the fish?6) The guy who wrote 5 stars for all the books for this publisher didn't even buy the book BUT he was giving 5 stars.7) Make sure you check the reviews from the people who actually bought the interview books which were all endorsed 5 stars by this person. From my own personal experience, I don't think they are making high quality books, together with other people's truthful reviews.+++

I bought set of 5 books as they were running some deals. Got Java j2ee, jsp servlet, core java, sql server and c & c++ interview questions from vibrant publishers at around $70. I must say every penny spent is worth it. few good things about these books is they have a large pool of questions, no repeats in technical questions, variety (basic, intermediate as well as high level questions) in questions.

It illuminates the fissures in our country and why these fault lines have become so extreme, divisive and potentially destabilizing in the era of Trump. Honestly, I can't rate this book any higher. It is a must read for anyone who cares about the future of American democracy.

Besides providing a wealth of information, it also does what a good history book should do: make the reader question the assumptions he or she has about how the current state of affairs came to be. “I hadn’t seen it quite like that,” was what I found myself saying most often. Something I hadn’t known, for instance, was that just when TV sitcoms moved from portraying happy, thriving families in suburbia to struggling working class families like that in "All in the Family,", opinion polls had begun to show that, Americans, for the first time in a generation, doubted, “whether it was possible for individuals to move up the economic ladder.” A small detail about popular culture, one might say. Except that as the authors show, such details-(this was the beginning of the growing divide between the very rich and everybody else) reveal the fissures which added one upon another, through several decades, to ultimately move the country to the fault lines we now see.I also found myself thinking about how civilizational fault lines occur anywhere: the intersection of economic malaise, cultural and demographic change, and nostalgia for a “golden past,” appears to be the recipe. That is a subject for another book. Meanwhile, this one made the recent American past come to life and made an ordinary reader like me, re-think the history I thought I knew.

"Fault Lines" is a good, brisk walk through the last 45 years. It's the well-told tale of how our social, cultural and political fractures brought us to where we are now -- the Age of Trump. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in modern American history or politics. Crisp writing by Princeton profs Julian Zelizer and Kevin Kruse (who's become something of a Twitter celebrity with his witty takedowns of history distorters) kept me hooked to the end. History-buff nerd-out: The bulk of the book covers the same ground as James T. Patterson's much longer "Restless Giant" but at a faster pace, with more of a stress on electoral politics and pop culture (think "All in the Family," "The Day After," and Tipper Gore's decency labels). The post-2000 section is more a straight news summary that, for me, refreshed memories and helped frame my understanding of what's happening now. Clearly intended for undergrad history students as well as general readers, "Fault Lines" addresses both audiences well. Five stars.

TL;DR: Great quick overview of 1960’s to the present. Falls a bit short on a more profound dive into each decade.Longer review: So this is hard for me because I am a huge fan of Kevin Kruse. I truly believe he is a fantastic historian and I enjoy how in detail he goes on his twitter threads. This is why I leave a 3, and not a 4 or 5. The book is good, very easy to read, covers a lot of material. However, many events are covered superficially.For example, when the authors talk about the 90s and events like Ruby Ridge, they do mention how Ruby Ridge was a big issue for the right, but if the reader has no knowledge of Ruby Ridge, they will be left without much details to understand why it was such a big deal. I feel certain events where left out in this way, covered superficially but not in detail.The book does make a great route as to how the right became emboldened and more divisive, and how that rancor spread through US politics.Solid overview read, but could have gone more in depth in the events covered.

This is the 16th Kindred novel and it is hard to keep coming up with new ideas to keep the story fresh, interesting and exciting. The author hasn't managed to do this in a while and the stories are getting redundant and repetitive. I held out hope that she could reverse the downward trend that I've been seeing in her Kindred books, but no such luck. At first "Forgotten" caught my attention as Kate lost her memory of the past 3 years by accidentally triggering a trap laid for another by Two and being returned to Earth when Two realized he caught the wrong woman. Rone a Wulven Kindred who has a beast inside him, has been hunting for his mate Kate and when he finds her, he discovers she is terrified of him. Thus Rone and Kate have to focus on restoring Kate's memories and cure her fear of him. The rest of the book ( around 70% or more) consists of mostly sex or actions leading up to sex and of course Kate has a tramatic sexual event in her past that makes it hard for her to be intimate. Sound like you read this senario before? Sure because the author has been there and done that more than once. The only difference is that Kate has lost her memory and Rone is already her mate. I will always cherish the earlier Kindred novels , but for me this is the end. I am sure the author will still have many devoted fans for her Kindred books as she does write tender hearted, loving romance novels, but I need more in a book than just sex to capture my interest.

You are so sucked in from the beginning so make sure you start this read when you’ve got the night to finish it without interruptions seriously.It starts off with Y and Master Two (God I hate this character) having a discussion about grabbing the wrong girl. The target was Emily suspected of being the Khalla and part of a prophecy. The kidnapping was to happen at Emily and Tragar’s joining ceremony. So when Master Two with the aid of a witch (I want to know who she is) taints a bouquet of Dream Blossoms with the sole purpose of when Emily sniffs them her body will be tainted with the fear poison and other savory toxins where she will fear her mate Tragar and she won’t know who he is she will have lost all memory of him.Well the little plan back fired and the wrong girl smelled the blossoms. Poor unsuspecting Kate has been mated with Rone a Wulven Kindred for three years and was best friends with Emily. So within a matter of seconds inhaling the toxins Kate didn’t know who Rone was and Rone was so shocked at what was occurring,Kate backing away from him in fear and then the next thing Kate totally disappears, vanished, kaput she was outta there. Realizing their mistake Master Two opted not to kill Kate but to send her to earth. She’d have no memory of the past three years and she wouldn’t remember what happened to her. So when Kate was sent back to earth she ended up in the middle of a park in Sarasota butt naked with her new friend Mimi standing over her.So now the story gets interesting. Follow the journey with Rone and Kate as they try to get her lost three years back and repair their bond. I’ll tell you now I felt so sorry for Rone. He was so in love with Kate, so devoted to her and so patient it will break your heart. To be honest there were times I was so damn aggravated with Kate I just wanted to slap her. Okay Okay so she was tampered with, was full of fear toxins and lost the last three years of her life. I get that but she still pissed me off. You’ll see why I’m saying this once you get into the read.Lots of unexpected surprises (at least I thought so). The freakiest part was when Sylvan sent Rone and Kate to Flame and Frost. I now see what they were trying to do. Towards the end you realize that Kate is still being manipulated by Master Two (Did I mention I really hate him?) Even though the fear toxin was removed from her system she still had not recovered her memory. One of my fave parts was when Master Two’s plan was foiled again. SHE TAMED THE BEAST!!!!! Ha.I have to say I so feel sorry for Y. Seriously. I know he’s a bad guy but is he really? Forgotten has TWO epilogues. TWO OF THEM. 5* Evangeline totally 5*

Let me say that I want a Wulvan Kindred my fave so far, and I so want a breeding chair YUM... Who doesn't want to woken up with that special kiss and put to sleep with it everynight SIGN ME UP FAST. I loved Rone he is awesome, perfect of there is such a thing and I loved the old Kate.. The new Kate was a pain in my ass so kept pissing me offf. Try something new, take a chance, open up...... Ugh she was so pig headed and stupid it was annoying. I love my Kindred by why is Sylvan the only one always popping up, what about Baird? Sylvan is starting to get on my nerves too hes behaving like his mate Sophia and acting dumb as a door knob. Does he not realize what is happening under his watch UGH.....I was happy when Kate got her memory back and what is that everyone who has a bad sexual experience runs from sex like the plague when its with someone you love and supposedly trust.I don't get that one. I am glad for the introduction and deeper understanding of the Wulvan Kindred they are the best as far as I'm concerned more stories about them please if we decide to pick up the Kindred again.

These books are getting to be very predictable. The story lines are kind of merging together. At first the series was cute, Ms. Anderson's writing was funny and the character development was jokingly cliché but still funny and readable.Now....its enough already. Its not funny anymore, the heroines come across as whiny and spineless and the male characters are selfish and too macho. And what's with the past couple of books the girls being scared of receiving pleasure i.e. getting some head. Really??? An alien race has come down and presented themselves for marriage and all the women of earth can do is act shy and naïve.I'm ready for Ms. Anderson to write a real girl, one who owns her sensuality, and is tough and comical. Not all girls are simpering damsels.
